Read about the wonderful worlds created by Kurt Chambers. Sink your teeth into excerpts and reviews for his amazing books.
With the recent influx of children’s fantasy writers trying to dominate the market, choosing an overall winner for this year was a difficult decision, but not an impossible one. One up and coming author shone above the rest with his delightful series about a modern day ten-year-old girl who is plunged into another realm after receiving a gift from a strange old man. The books are aimed at an age group of around twelve-years-old, but in my opinion they can be enjoyed by any age group. I really enjoyed these collection of novels. They will make you laugh, cry, and even gasp as you follow this little girl’s adventure through a fantasy world brought to life beautifully by the author. These books are not available on the market just yet, but are definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
Truth Teller: Book I of the Truth Teller Series

Truth Teller is book one in a story about Charlotte, a modern day ten year old girl who discovers another realm, where she plays a major role in the continuing battle of good against evil. Befriended by an elven family, she embarks on a suspenseful journey, finally arriving at an ancient mountain fortress where she is abducted by a druid assassin. Can she be saved? Can she find her way home? I found this story an absolute joy to read. I would describe it as the perfect introduction to a child or adult into the ever popular world of fantasy reading. Thumbs up on this one, it’s a real page turner.

The Wrath of Siren: Book II of the Truth Teller Series

Elderfield’s world is turned completely upside down after as he accepts the responsibility of a Gateway into another realm. Very soon this becomes a great burden to him. His quest to save his people from the Dark Druid takes him to the limit of his endurance. This second book of the Truth Teller series is the perfect accompaniment to its predecessor featuring all your favourite characters and introducing many new ones. I was surprised at how quickly I became wrapped up in the author’s world of fantasy. An extremely delightful and riveting read.
Favian’s Law: Book III of the Truth Teller Series

As if the first two delightful stories were not enough, the author brings us a third in the series. There is no official word on this story yet, so tell all your friends you heard it from here first. I was very honoured to get a sneak preview of this story and I have to tell you, you will not be disappointed. From the very beginning you will feel that rush of excitement as the author’s familiar voice captures your imagination and whisks you into his wonderful world of fantasy. I can’t reveal any of the story, but this is one title I will be gagging to put on my Christmas list when it’s finally released.
Unknown Reality

Unknown Reality is a MG fantasy novel based on an eleven-year-old girl called Chloe. She enjoys a simple family life like any ordinary girl of her age, but all that changes during a trip to the theatre with her mum.
Chloe meets a colourful character that, on first impressions, seems to be more than a little weird. He claims that all is not as it seems with the universe around her. She would have never given it another thought if strange things hadn’t started happening. Chloe’s life falls apart before her eyes as she finds her whole world is just a holographic projection as part of an experiment by a group of Scientists.
Plunged into a world on the brink of destruction, she discovers her real family is from a clan of Savages that live in the wilderness. She is kidnapped and forced to make decisions on where her loyalties lie, but all she wants to do is return to a family that never really existed.

The World in Johnny’s Back Garden

The idea for The World in Johnny’s Back Garden came to me a long time ago. The original idea behind this novel was to write a story to give younger children an alternative view of all the living things around us through a series of mini adventure stories. I was going to write each chapter through the POV (point of view) of a different creature, like a mouse, a slug or a dandelion. That turned out to be quite a difficult task in the end, so the story has changed since then, but I’m still using the original theme. I mentioned this story in a submission to Ladybird publishers a couple of years ago and they told me their editorial panel was very impressed with my ideas and approach, so my plan of action is to complete this story and submit it to them sometime in the future.
